For those of you that think Arizona is all desert, I rode through about a hundred miles of this today from south of Payson to just short of Holbrook.

It was 100+ at home, but very nice up here.

I decided to ride through the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert. At the junction is this gift shop where you can buy petrified wood that was harvested before it became a park.

Judging from the size of these specimens I suspect there has been a little climate change in the last 5 or 6 years.

I won't caption too many of these pics unless I deem it necessary. :)

You know you are about to enter New Mexico when you see these magnificent cliffs.


I see the Navajo are developing a new subdivision.

I was a good thing I pulled off into old town Gallup to refuel or I would have been stuck behind this big rig that caught fire.


The fire truck had to go past this section of the highway and go up an off ramp to access the truck.
