Getting close to the end my my trip and stopped by my sisters for a couple of days.

A common sight for many, but a first for me.

July 27, 2015. Arrived home about 11:30 AM. I've been on the road sixty three days and like this momma I'm ready for a little rest. It's been fun to say the least. I've ridden 11,989 miles of what I thought was going to be a 12,000 mile trip. I even thought about riding the extra eleven just to say it was, but then it would have been faking it.......not me.......well, at least not today. <G> For any of you thinking of making a trip to AK, do it! Ride whatever motorcycle there that you want to. Choose a good 50/50 tire for the trip. I was really impressed with the Mitas E-07 Dakar's on the GS.  I rode my GS and think that is the best choice for this trip, but I could have done it on a Vulcan, Harley,  Goldwing, Shadow, KLR, or even a TW200, just at a slower pace. I plan to do a complete service on my GS and then sell it as I bought it just for this trip. It did perform flawlessly and averaged around 40mpg. I thought that was pretty good. Now I just have to add up what all of this has cost me! Thanks for riding along via my blog, I hope you enjoyed the trip. Lanny
